The Team
Chance-Me started with a question we asked as parents, not as founders: why is an honest read on a student's chances so hard to get, so expensive, and so often wrong? We thought there had to be a better, more affordable, more accurate way. So we built it.
We went through the college process the way most families do: a fog of rankings, forums, and confident strangers, with real money on the line and no straight answer to the only question that mattered. The advice that was actually good was expensive and scarce. The advice that was affordable was generic. And almost none of it could tell us, for this student at this school, what the real chance was and what to do about it.
We had spent our careers turning messy, high-stakes information into clear decisions. It was hard to accept that a decision this important had to stay this murky. Chance-Me is the answer we wanted then: the school-specific read a great counselor gives, made affordable, consistent, and honest enough to tell you when the answer is no.
90%+
Directional accuracy, early validation
In early testing with admissions consultancies and families, our reads matched real, known outcomes more than 90% of the time on a directional basis: students who were admitted read as Target or Likely, students who were denied read as Reach or Hard Reach. It is an early, honest signal on a known sample, not a promise about any single decision, because no responsible read can guarantee a committee's verdict. What we can promise is that the number you see is calibrated, sourced, and built to be honest with you.
