Questions students and parents ask us.

Here are short answers. If your question is not here, email support@chance-me.ai and we will answer it and add it.

The basics

What is Chance-Me?

Chance-Me shows you how 150 selective US colleges read your profile. Each college values different things. We run your real grades, courses, scores, and activities against what we know about each college. You get a plain read for each one, and what to do about it.

Is this a chance calculator?

No. Chance calculators give you one number from an average. We give you a read per college, with the reason behind it and a confidence level. Two colleges can read the same student very differently. That difference is the point.

Is it a chatbot?

No. There is no chat. You enter your profile once. We run it through a model built from public admissions data and a research library on each college. The writing you see is generated from that output, not from a conversation.

Who is it for?

It is for high school students in grades 8 to 12 and the parents and counselors helping them. Most of our users are juniors and seniors. Younger students use Make My List and Admit-Me to build toward their list.

Which colleges do you cover?

We cover 150 selective US colleges and universities, including the most selective. See the full list on the Colleges page.

Do you replace a counselor?

No. Your counselor knows you. We know the colleges. Bring your read to your counselor meeting and spend the time on what to do, not on what the landscape looks like.

Free

What do I get for free?

You get a free read on two colleges, and you do not need an account. Your first college gets the full read, the same as the paid version, and your second college is a preview. Make My List is also free and gives you a balanced list of 15 colleges built from your stats and interests.

Why only two colleges free?

Two is enough to see the point: the same profile reads differently at different colleges. After that, each extra college is $1.99.

What is Make My List?

You tell us your stats, your interests and the kind of college you want. We give you a balanced list of 15 colleges, each with the reason it is there. It is always free, and we save it under your email so you can come back and update it. Make my list.

Admit-Me

What is Admit-Me?

Admit-Me is a membership for the whole application season. You can track up to 15 colleges, see what each one values and how you compare, and get a prompt every week about what to build next. It costs $12 a month, your first month is free, and you can cancel any time.

What does "first month free" mean?

You enter a card at signup. You pay nothing for 30 days. After that it is $12 a month until you cancel. Cancel from your dashboard in one click.

What is included?

You get a free 6-college Profile Audit every month and weekly insights on what changed at your colleges. Extra Profile Audit and Playbook colleges are 30% off. Interview practice with alumni is coming soon.

What is AIM™?

AIM™ is your Admissions Intelligence Mentor inside Admit-Me. Every week, AIM™ looks at your list and your profile and tells you the next thing worth doing: a course to take, a test date, an activity to deepen, a deadline coming up. Each prompt is short, specific and tied to the colleges you care about.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time, from your dashboard. You keep access until the end of the month you paid for.

Accuracy and data

How accurate is it?

No one can guarantee a committee's decision, so we give a probability and a separate confidence score instead of a yes or no. Every read is sourced and calibrated against published admissions data for 150 colleges, and the scoring gives the same result for the same inputs every time. How we measure accuracy.

Where does the research come from?

It comes from public admissions data, each college's own published priorities and a research library our team updates every week. See How it works and What's inside.

What is the confidence score?

It shows how sure the read is, given what you told us. When your inputs are thin, confidence is lower, and we say so instead of guessing.

Do you use AI?

Yes, for the writing. The numbers come from a model built on public data and updated each cycle. The AI explains the numbers in plain language. It does not decide them.

Do test scores matter if a college is test-optional?

If your score is above the college's middle range, sending it usually helps. Below it, other parts of your file carry more. Your read tells you which case you are in.

Privacy

Who sees my data?

You do, and our team does when we need to support you. No one else sees it, and we never sell data. See Privacy and Data security.

Do you share my profile with colleges?

No. We never share your profile with colleges.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. Email support@chance-me.ai from the address you used and we will delete it.

Do I need an account?

Not for the free read. Paid reads and Admit-Me create an account from your email so you can find your reports again.

Counselors and consultants

How does Chance-Me help me as a counselor?

You get every read for every student under your own name. A 2-minute profile read shortens the first meeting, a Profile Audit cuts prep time and a Playbook shapes the strategy. Unlimited use starts at $1,900 a month.

Is there a counselor version?

Yes. A white-labeled dashboard for your whole caseload. Start a free 7-day trial on the trial page.

Can I white-label it?

Email support@chance-me.ai. We work with consultancies on this case by case.
